Trumpeter Swan Restoration on the Flathead Reservation
Dale Becker, wildlife manager for the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribe’s Fish, Wildlife, Recreation and Conservation program will discuss efforts to restore the Trumpeter Swan as a resident species on the Flathead reservation. Trivia tidbit: Trumpeter swans are the largest waterfowl in North America with a wingspan up to 7 feet. What was their past range in Montana? What challenges do they currently face? What are their habitat requirements? Find out the facts on Trumpeter Swans during this Secret Science Night.
