Milkweed, Monarchs and Other Pollinators in Your Backyard

Milltown State Park is hosting an educational program “Milkweed, Monarchs and Other Pollinators in Your Backyard,” and a chance for volunteers to plant milkweed seeds on October 25, 2015 at 12 p.m. Glenn Marangelo from the Missoula Butterfly House and Insectarium will lead the program. First Day Hike at Milltown State Park

First Day Hike -- Milltown State Park, Friday January 1, 2016, 11:00 AM

Start the new year off on the right foot with a hike on new trails that connect the Milltown State Park Overlook to the Clark Fork River floodplain. Learn about the human and natural history of the site and look for wildlife tracks in the snow on the floodplain. Cocoa and cookies await on our return to the overlook parking area.

Please dress appropriately for the weather. Water bottles, winter boots with trax or cleats, warm clothing, and binoculars are suggested.

Roundtable: The Bonner Mill: Today and Tomorrow

Mike Boehme introduces businesses operating in the Bonner Mill. The co-owner of the Bonner Mill will introduce owners or managers of the diverse set of businesses now on the mill property. Businesses who may be represented include Coaster Pedicab, Kettlehouse, Northwest Paint, Alcom, Montainer, Willis Enterprises, Bonner Transfer and Storage, and Hellgate Forge. Andy Lukes will introduce the program.

History Roundtable: History of Bonner's Churches


The next Bonner History Roundtable, " The History of Bonner’s Churches " is February 19, 2-4 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 9015 MT-200, Bonner. 

Join Kim Briggeman, Pastor Carl Rohr, and Pastor Dan Taylor as they tell the “creation stories” of St. Ann Catholic Church, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and Hope Baptist Church. Audience participation invited for stories about the buildings, art and music in the churches, and youth. Free and open to the public. Followed by a pasty dinner served by St. Ann Parish.

Sponsored by Bonner Milltown History Center and Museum located in the Bonner Post Office building. Hours: Tuesday morning coffee hour, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.; Wednesdays and Thursdays, 2 - 4:30 p.m.

You’ll receive an exclusive training from policy experts in the conservation community on lobbying and a briefing on our priority issues. We’ll focus on critical legislation affecting clean energy, the Smith River, clean air, climate change, and land use.
At our lobby day members and supporters will join friends and members from other conservation groups for a training starting in the morning in Helena. Then we will head up to the Capitol for lunch with legislators, and one-on-one appointments and hearings in the afternoon.

9th Annual Superfun(d) Run 2017

Hit the trails in preparation for the Superfun(d) Run coming up Friday, April 21. The one mile is at 6pm and the 5k and10k runs start at 6:30. Kids eighth grade and younger run free in the one mile and 5k races! Register at www.competitivetiming.com or at www.runsignup.com

Earth Day Work Day at Milltown State Park

Saturday, April 22, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Earth Day Work Day at Milltown State Park. Join staff from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks as they plant trees and forbs (flowering plants) on the restored floodplain of the Clark Fork River. Bring gloves and work shoes.

Meet at the Bonner Learning Park / Clark Fork Area in Piltzville. Directions: Take I-90 to the Bonner Exit and follow Highway 200 to its junction with Highway 210. Continue a quarter of a mile and look for the Earth Day sign (turn at the first right past the caboose).
